With Saint Patrick’s day being in this month, I decided to make Watergate salad. It’s green, and so why not? I remember eating this “salad” as a kid and really liking it. My mom had a good recipe and in my mind, she always made it in this bowl.
I don’t ever remember helping make it though. So now that I’m a grown up, it’s time to make it myself I suppose.
I started off with adding the pudding mix to the pineapple – I only had diced and it calls for crushed, but I thought it would be ok. In hindsight, I do think crushed would have worked better, but diced worked. Eventually. Ha!
Trust the process, right? 😂
Once I added the marshmallows and pecans it would be better, right?
Bwahahaha! Trust the process. The only thing left to add was the cool whip, and I’m quickly realizing that the bowl my mom used was the next size up. 😂 Here goes nothing though. The next size up bowl is on the top shelf in my cabinet and it’s midnight, so I’m gonna make this work!
And look!! It’s beautiful and it does fit in the bowl! Siiiiigh. Trust the process.
