I made a couple of cakes over the weekend, and my theme turned out to be “trust the process”. Baking the cakes don’t bother me, it’s the decorating that always makes me second guess everything. I always think things are such a mess, and then all of a sudden it comes together!
Like this. Look at what a mess this is.
And that was after I had worked on it for a bit. This is always about the time I sit back and siiiiigh. Trust the process. Keep going. Blah blah blah.
And then magically it ends up looking decent!
So I thought to myself, maybe that’s like life sometimes. It’s messy and miserable and you’ve worked on it for a while and it looks like you’re going to have to trash the whole thing and start over. And then, poof! Things are good. I mean, you still have to do the work and you can’t just give up and trash it, but all of a sudden you look around and think, huh. There we go.
